Jim,

Attached is a copy of my photo from the promotion ceremony at Mare Island Naval Shipyard on April 18, 1968. The officer shaking my hand and presenting me with my 2nd class crow is Captain Jarvis, Commander, Submarine Group, San Francisco Bay Area. The shipmate two over on my right is Gary Netcher and four over on my right is an Engineman named McMannamy.  McMannamy (sp) was from Montana and he had a pick-up truck with big mud flaps on it that said, "Big Sky Country".

Web-Master Jim Santos recalls Engineman McMannus EN1(SS) who loved tuna fish sandwiches.  I took a photo of him in cut off shorts, no shirt while he was on watch in the Aft Engine Room just after we came off patrol, enjoying the fresh air of the main induction dump into the AER.  My ex-wife has my old Navy slides and will not give them to me. ARRRGGGHHH!!!!
