Diodon Shipmates;
Swede is already figuring out how to get to
Duluth from his home port in Ohio. Let me suggest the following for your
planning purposes:
For those who wish to fly to Duluth, the
options are the following:
1) American has three non-stops from
Chicago to Duluth
2) Northwest has about 6 non-stops from
Minneapolis / St. Paul. If you fly into Minneapolis on Northwest the
continuation fee is reasonable. If you fly into Minneapolis on another
carrier, it may be more cost effective to rent a car in the Twin Cities and
drive the 150 miles north to Duluth on I-35.
3) If your driving, and it takes you
thru the Chicago area, head for Eau Claire, Wisconsin on I-94. At Eau Claire
take US 53 about 150 miles north to Duluth. It is divided four lane all the
way.
4) If you are driving in from the West or
south of the Twin Cities, seek out I-35 which comes north from Dallas/Fort
Worth, goes through Oklahoma, Missouri, Des Moines, the Twin Cities, and
terminates in Duluth.
I should have been a QM. Wishing you good
navigating.
