Hello Jim,

No, I did not find anything or anyone that I remembered!  I was aboard Diodon for only a year, then went on shore duty.

But during that year I qualified in submarines and was promoted to Commissaryman First Class.

But I remember one of the most satisfying days in my Navy life was one October evening after the evening meal in Port Angeles, Washington.  I was down on my hands and knees cleaning the galley deck when I looked up to see a pair of brown shoes and khaki  pants.  Then LT. Fred Porterfield, XO, congratulated me for earning the dolphins!

I made chief aboard the USS Charr (SS328) in 1960 and retired in 1965.
