Subject: USS Diodon (SS349) cruise

Hi, Jim Santos, can't recall knowing you. must've been after I left the boat. I reported aboard Diodon after sub school in 1950 until 1952 when the USS Archerfish (SS311) was recommissioned.  I changed my rate on the Archerfish and became a QM. No, I don't have any pictures to show my stint on Diodon. When you're young, you don't think about taking any pictures for souvenir purposes.

Diodon was my first boat sfter sub school in 1950, I was a TN then, but retired as QM1(SS) in 1966 in SDiego.

Last boat was the Rock (AGSS274)

Made first "war patrol" on Diodon in Sea of Japan late 1950.

Served on Diobon 1950 - 52 Made WesPac cruise to Sea of Japan during Korean conflict and stayed submerged for 45 days and nights straight on snorkel.

Xferred to Archerfish in 1952, changed rate from TN to QM.
