I am an independent documentary producer from Turkey, working on a new film for the 50th. anniversay of the very tragic loss of the Dumlupinar submarine. She was lost 4 April 1953 while serving in the Turkish Navy, after being rammed by Swedish freighter Naboland in the Dardanelles.
This catastrophe still creates great public sorrow and is still remembered every April 4th, since 22 members of the crew were alive in the submarine for 48 hours after the accident, but it was never possible to rescue them.
This very submarine was once USS Blower, served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1950. I hope you shall be interested.
Thanks. Savas
