Hello Folks,
You do not know me (yet) but you have heard of me via my friend and colleague,
Harry Riley. Harry and I served and worked together in the US Army as enlisted
men in the same organization, both obtained commissions about the same
times, served in Vietnam, and attended the Military Intelligence Officers Career
Course together in 1970. After that our careers went in separate directions,
but we have remained friends and in contact and worked together on Veterans
issues, Harry on the front line and me more behind the scene.
As I was developing my idea for a solution to save America and put government
back under the control of the American People as stated in the US Constitution,
I started sharing my thoughts with Harry and others whom I considered to be
intelligent, responsible people who care about the state of our nation and what
our grandchildren were going to inherit.
He in turn passed my thoughts along to many of you. I have been extremely
impressed and almost overwhelmed by the responses, ideas, and support that seems
to be there. I do believe that it is not only possible; it can succeed. I am
grateful to Harry for putting me in touch with his many associates, especially
each of you.
I was especially impressed with the expansion of the idea as stated by, I
believe, Charlie's niece, Toni, which Harry forwarded to me. She has sensed the
spirit and hit the nail right on the head in respect to what I had in mind and
where I was going with the idea. Most of you have also. I not only want her on
our team; I want her to be one of our founding designers. Her concepts for
marketing our new American party are outstanding and I want her permission to
share it with all of you.
In short, I would like to add each of you to our team as a key players and
dialogue with you as we develop a platform on which to build our future. As I
am sure you are aware, to date we have but touched the tip of the iceberg, and
we have a long hard road ahead to make it work.
But it can work and we can win if we get it right the first time around and with
dispatch. I would also like to include any other like-minded people whom you
recommend that would be supportive so we can put our heads together and develop
this thing in a way that will really get the job done in the concept that will
change the direction in which America is headed.
I have examined the Veterans Party of America's web site and find that a lot of
it follows our ideals. However, the very name itself is too limited in scope to
appeal across the board to sufficient numbers of our population to "win their
hearts and minds" to the develop a voter population strong enough to totally
replace our current disastrous political system. Toni makes that very clear in
her response and I love her suggested name for our Party, "American Party".
Part of my idea is to develop our platform, and then sell it to the Veterans
Party in such a way that they will comprehend and see where and why they need to
make an adjustment, and will in the end join forces with us. They do have a lot
of organizational ground work already laid that could put us ahead by years in
our time schedule. And fundamentally, they are in agreement with us. But the
name they are using makes them too limited in the minds of the total American
public to be able to gain the strength to win on the battlefield, in my opinion.
I do have many more thoughts to share, and I want you all on board to share them
with and to bounce them off of because I believe you all understand what needs
to be done and concur in our approach to getting us there.
I do want to build a list of qualified leaders, thinkers, and will be willing an
able to put the pieces of the puzzle together in a way that will ensure we win
this war. I invite each of you to be part of this team and to contact me direct
at ljmix@juno.com.
My name is Lowell J. Mix and I am currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada. I
have a lot of family in San Antonio, Texas and in Panama City, Florida. I have
"retired" three times [1978, 1990, 2001] (some of it for health reasons), but am
currently working again Mon-Sat, about ten hours a day.
I am also an avid genealogist and have been for over 15 years. I have been an
active leader in Veterans Organizations including the American Legion, Disabled
American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as active in organizations
such as Military Officers Association of America, NAUS, and others. I have my
own business, which explains why I work long hours, but which also helps
generate capital to support causes in which I believe.
But my primary concern at this point in my life is doing whatever I can to
salvage the future of our Country and return us to what our Founding Fathers had
in mind when they wrote our Constitution in the first place. Although age 65,
I want to live to see that day. I have four children and eight grandchildren.
I look forward to hearing from each of you individually, and welcome you aboard
if you elect to join with us in setting up our beginning with a "Think Tank" of
responsible, caring, intelligent American men and woman with a common interest.
Sincerely,
Lowell J. Mix
