Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is my pleasure to announce to you that the Think Tank Team as voted on the name of our new major Third Party to be called the American Party.  This was done after much research, thought and consideration using the following:

A Single name was chosen for the following reasons:

1)  There may be some utility to a one word name.  Two word parties have historically not fared particularly well.  But Federalists, Whigs, Democrats, Republicans--all winners and all with one name.

2)  .....is less cumbersome and more easily identifiable.

3)  The name must have a very positive intent and be a viable representation of what the purpose is. It is all about marketing. People shy away from the unknown. They avoid situations that may make them look bad. But the thing all voting members in the United States of America have in common, is they are Americans, and they are American Citizens, so either name encompass the nation immediately.

4)  More than one word is acceptable, but is difficult for seniors to learn, adjust to, and use.  Youth search for brief, short, terminology.  Elderly must have easy to remember terminology.  Probably does not matter at all to Mr. and Mrs. In Between.

5)  It supports the guidelines given.

6)  Americans: Immediately identifies who we are and implies an open invitation for new members of all walks of life to associate with.  No one out there claims of left or right wing activity.

The following guidelines were used:

        1) The name selected will have a major impact on the message we want to convey to the American Public, and whether  we will relate sufficiently to begin the process of wining their Hearts and Minds and thus the election.

        2) The name has to be simple in language and relevant to all Americans.

        3) We want the American People to identify quickly, identify with, and relate to easily, with the name and the meaning or significance it is conveying to them.

        4) We will have to answer or justify to many of our interested and prospective members why we chose whatever name we ultimately choose.

        5) (As Chairman, I do not vote unless to break a tie; I did not need to vote on this issue.)  The outcome will be shared with all Members-at-Large, which at present is everyone on our mailing list.

Now we would like to hear from all our Members-at-Large.

Please reply with your vote to accept or reject this name for our new party.  You can do so very simply by sending an e-mail to me at ljmix@juno.com , then copy and paste one of the following phrases.  Please include your name so we can validate your membership.

Sincerely,
