All,
Our scheduled guests on POW/MIA Radio for Father's Day, Sunday,
June 19, 2005, are:
3:00pm Mtn -
Mr. Ted Barker. Ted and his brother Hal, form the nucleus of the Korean War
Project, a non-profit corporation devoted to the study of the Korean War. Ted
is an Air Force veteran and serves as researcher, database designer and manager
for the Korean War Project. Their website is a comprehensive database for
anyone wanting to know more about the war in Korea. It is complete with
KIA-POW-MIA-WIA lists, memorials, maps, references and much more. Ted will
discuss not only the web site but events and projects he is involved with. For
more information, please visit their site at:
http://www.koreanwar.org . June 25th is
the 55th anniversary of the start of the Korean War; or have you forgotten?
4:00pm Mtn - Mr. Steve Kiba:
Steve is a former POW and Airman in the US Air Force during the
Korean War. He was a radio operator on an unarmed B-29 that was shot down over
North Korea on January 12, 1953. Steve bailed out, was captured and traveled to
various camps before ending up in the Chinese Gulags. He was finally released
and deported from Red China on August 4, 1955, well after the armistice with
North Korea was signed ending the Korean War. Since then, Steve has been
telling his story and of other American POWs seen in China. His recent book,
"The Flag, My Story: Kidnapped by Red China", tells of his experience and
torture while POW. A more compelling story is his experience after he was
released. Steve will also offer his opinion on a variety of important issues of
today.
5:00pm Mtn - News and Views: An hour of the latest POW/MIA and veterans issues.
