Admiral,

You make some unsubstantiated and invalid assumptions as to what I do or don't do.

I heard "dirt-ball Durbin's" comments and it is clear he was playing political games using our military as pawns.

The minor comments from the FBI report was so insignificant that could only be used by a political hack trying to make points...........well, dirt-ball Durbin made points with the terrorists.......

There was nothing in the FBI report that can possibly justify labeling our military or anyone else as "nazis, Russian gulag action, or Pol Pot regime association............why would an individual who holds the position of Senator not recognize the potential impact of making such outlandish statements? The answer lies in the motive of Durbin...........he will say and do anything to bash his political opponents. You, nor Durbin and probably the FBI author have the facts as to why specific prisoners were given harsh treatment.........I can think of reasons that would call for severe restraint.......

I have been outspoken of anyone that uses, abuses, or ignores the service of our military, when and if I become aware of it.......that includes all parties and the Bush Administration...........if you followed Class Act you will know I have criticized President Bush for years for making promises he apparently had no intention of keeping.....you probably haven't noted my opposition to the Republicans who fail to cosponsor HR602, Keep Our Promise Act.......politicians are all from the same cloth........selfish, greedy, unprincipled, without integrity, and never to be trusted and "dirt-ball Durbin" leads the pack.

It is indeed unfortunate that you can find any justification to support Durbin's comments...........he is a disgrace......a disgusting example of Congressional leadership.......God deliver us from this kind of trash.

I also note your response to Commander Paul Galanti, a former POW for many years in Hanoi who clearly understands torture...You stated in an email to Commander Galanti " Is it just possible that anything said by any Democrat against the Bush Administration is enough to make you mad?" ....your suggestion that Commander Galanti is playing political games by taking issue with Durbin's comments is beyond the pale........you owe Commander Galanti an apology.

Respectfully,

Harry Riley, COL, USA, Ret

Harry- Here is your comment:

"politicians like Senator Dick Durbin who compared our troops to "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime - Pol Pot or others - that had no concern for human beings". Now, I heard and saw Durbin delivering that speech on TV. Did you?

He said over and over that he was not referring to the American military. He had read a report by an FBI person that said that the treatment of some prisoners at GITMO was very bad. Nowhere did he say anything about our troops. The FBI and others were all involved at GITMO.

Can't you hear?

What do you read?

Probably you read only FOX news and Sun Yung Moon's Washington Post. You probably listen to Limbaugh faithfully.

I feel sorry for you.
