Subject: Chief needs support
Gentlemen I am not a retired NCO but my father-in-law is a retired Master Chief
Boilermaker from the US Navy and a veteran of three wars and is at present in
the hospital trying to recoup from a coronary among other things.
I know he served aboard the USS McDonald before being stationed in US Naval Station Corpus Christi.
His name is James O. Bryant
His address is 4526 Carroll Lane, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 and his phone number is 361-853-9259.
If any of his old shipmates are still out there I know he could use a lot of words of encouragement as well as his family at this time. He has over the past four years lost his oldest daughter and his wife of 50 years.
His current family consists of one daughter (Jane), three granddaughters (Chandra Stephens, Melissa Todd. and Elizabeth Stephens) four great grand children (Anthony, Catylin,Laura and Emily Todd) and me, his son-in-law, James L . Stephens.
I proudly count him as family because he has been like a father to me. So if
there are any of his old shipmates still out there as James is 76 years old
please send him a card or phone his daughter and grand daughter as he needs all
the prayers and well wishers they can get.
