ARLINGTON, Va. (July 1, 2005) In an effort to provide improved service to our Retirees, the Defense and Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) is implementing the electronic delivery of Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) account statements.

For those military retirees who are to receive CRSC, the statements will be available on a monthly basis beginning July 1, 2005 via the online pay account site, myPay. The CRSC account statements provide detailed information regarding your continuing monthly CRSC payments including disability ratings, unemployability, Purple Heart indicators, as well as other entitlement data.

While retirees may continue to contact the Retired and Annuitant Contact Center by phone at 1-800-321-1080, it is trusted that the statement will answer questions regarding the computation of your CRSC payment. Please note that the CRSC monthly statement will only contain information concerning your continuing monthly payment.

Details about your retroactive payments will be available through myPay by the end of the year. The CRSC monthly statement will only be available through the myPay Web site at https://mypay.dfas.mil. The Web-based system delivers personal pay information and provides the ability to process pay-related transactions timely, safely and securely for all its members.

The online system eliminates the risks associated with hard copy documents by allowing members to access their electronic1099R, Retiree Account Statement (RAS) and other financial information. myPay security matches existing private industry standards with the highest level of encryption and security designed to prevent member information from being accessed by others on the Internet. DFAS is confident that providing CRSC statements on myPay will be a useful addition to the information provided to retirees.

We remain committed to offering the best service for our retired and annuitant customers. If you don't have a myPay account, call us at 1-800-390-2348 to get a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access your myPay account on the web. If you already have a myPay PIN, but have forgotten your number, please dial the same number to get your PIN reissued.
