Subject: [vetissues] Veterans Health Care.
As we veterans are just trying to have a decent
life of what is left of allot of our lives, here comes President George W.
Bush with a 250.00 dollar fee to get into VA Health care and a 15.00 per 30
day supply of meds that is keeping allot of us veterans going. I was working
and had a wonderful job in the Dairy business and one morning my whole world
fell apart.
Woke up and such pain in my legs I could not
walk. I thaught I WAS HAVING ANOTHER HEART ATTACK as I had back in 1985 and
had by-pass operation. Well it wasn't my heart it was my vascular system
this time. Then after six operations on my vascular system which the VA did
not pay a penny on them for I had great insurance at work.
In 1996 I was told I would never work again. Due
to the diseases I have. CHF, Vascular, and in 1998 type-2 diabetes. My
records show I was on an LST in the waters of the RVN but the VA turned down
my claim for Type-2 diabetes and heart and vascular disease do to herbicide
exposuer in and around Vietnam.
But getting back to the health care subject I was
retired and got Social Security and a pay from insurance I took at work and
I payed for if something happened to me so I could help support my family.
The VA say's I have to make co-payments for just about all I get. I really
can not afford to pay these co-payments but the VA say's I can.
Now the President wants to put another hardship
on me. I guess I will have to just let go and die. For if I do not get my
meds am a dead man. I wonder if the President had to sit and worry about
where his next meal was going to come from if he would be in such a rush to
do veterans this way?
He is a veteran of the Guard but does not have to
worry about his health care. The President has out right lied to the
American Veterans and those in uniform today. Veterans health care should be
FREE due to we all payed the price already and still are paying the price.
We should not be put into groups at the VA for health care. We all should be
treated the same way.
After all we all served in our services together
and it made no difference what service we were in we did our jobs for our
country. Why should we as veterans pay for getting out of the service and
getting a good job and make good money then lose our job because of health
and be punished by the government to have to pay to get health care when the
government has and is wasting money everyday.
Giving trillons to over seas countries for things
not needed. Using government planes to fly all over the world at American
tax payers expence. The cost of jet fuel alone could be put into the VA
health care syatem. They make trips all over the country just to talk about
social security and could do that on T.V. or in the News paper. The costs of
the fuel would be able to go to helping the VA health care.
They the government do not have to make all these
useless trips. So if any of you veterans out there want to pull together and
really fight instead of going to Washington and smiling at the President get
the guts to stand up and say Honorable Mr. President you have lied to the
veterans of this country and you should be asshamed of yourself. We as
veterans need our health care or allot more are going to die faster then
expected.
All I can say is God have pitty on the American
Veterans of our great country.
God Bless.
John.
